Tesla Plans Unique Data Centers Amid Growth in Self-Driving and Recent Acquisitions

Tesla is launching a distinctive data center, as indicated by a recent job posting, aiming to handle vast data from its autonomous driving tech. The job description entails leading the design and execution of Tesla’s first-of-its-kind data center.

While specifics about what differentiates this data center remain undisclosed, Tesla’s data management approach has seen shifts, particularly after purchasing a Sacramento-based center earlier this year.

This move followed Elon Musk’s criticism of the location but aligns with the company’s push to enhance its self-driving algorithms using real-world vehicle data. In parallel, Tesla eyes data centers from Musk-acquired Twitter, known as X, though Twitter’s own data partnerships, including with Amazon Web Services, have been strained under Musk.
