MVBER: From required certificates to voluntary confirmations

Summary

Four months ago, the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (MVBER; incl. Supplementary Guidelines) was revised and extended until end of May 2028.

One revision is related to the definition of original parts or equipment and their quality certification. What this revision means for the daily practice of suppliers and producers of such spare parts can be derived from a recent assessment by Osborne Clarke.
